Food Waste Collection from Flats: Why Optimising the Process Matters
From April 2026, under the Simpler Recycling reforms in England, many local authorities and waste collection providers will be required to introduce separate food waste
The CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice (DoWCoP) provides a clear, consistent and efficient process which enables the reuse of excavated materials on-site or their movement between sites.
For the Construction Industry, this DoWCoP provides an excellent way of moving excavated soil from one ‘site’ to another, in a way which means it is not treated as a ‘waste’, but as a ‘material’. This means that a costly Environmental Permit can be avoided and the process can be streamlined.
WPSCC has a number of CL:AIRE specialists we can call upon, because each movement of soil requires a Materials Management Plan to be prepared and then an independent CL:AIRE Qualified Person has to ratify and sign off the process.
